I'm planning on doing an edible row of bushes along the front of my property. I'm looking for some black currant plants I can buy locally. Has anyone purchased any? If so, where? Or does anyone have a plant from which I could take some cuttings? I may have some seeds/plants to trade that you may be interested in.

I don't have deer where I am. Just a few turkeys and lots of birds. I plan to plant enough to share with them too. Same as I have with the blue berries.

So where are the deer in Suffolk? I thought they were all over out there. More on the south shore than on the north?

Yay! Blueberries! That brought back a memory from the past. Visiting my grandparents' summer home out in Rocky Point and picking wild blueberries on the forested land that was owned by RCA Victor (I think that was the name of the company). And now that I think of it, I don't remember deer but I do remember wild rabbits.

There are deer in the RCA property and around, but I'm kinda in the middle of a more developed area with small properties and a lot of houses, so there aren't deer that wander this far in. Heck, even the postman won't wander this far in! I have to get my mail on another street!
