What do you predict?

Honestly, I think theres more than a few redundant stops that should be closed to save money and speed up service.

Your thoughts...predictions?

Stewart Manor or Nassau Blvd on Hempstead Line. They are like half a mile apart. Myabe Bellerose Village - those people will go to Floral Park. Carle Place on main line.

I don't commute so I can't think of any others off the top of my head right now.

not sure how simply bypassing stations on an existing scheduled train saves any money.

They proposed a few different things earlier this year (eliminating weekend service on the West Hempstead line, eliminating service to Belmont, etc.) before they went ahead with the payroll tax...I suspect
many of those same ideas will likely be implemented.

East Rockaway and Centre Avenue stop are both in East Rockway on the Long Beach line. They are about 1/4 mile from each other. It seems silly to have in a town that is one square mile. I think that if one was closed there would be a parking issue.

I don't think closing stations will save money because then they will have to demolish the derelict stations to discourage vandalism and unauthorized people having easy access to the tracks. Plus, since most station parking situations are at or near capacity, it will cause severe parking problems at other stations.

def. agree with centre ave! I barely ever see anyone get off or on at that station. Honestly though, I think Oceanside is closer to East Rockaway than Centre Ave is. Oceanside and East Rockaway are busier than Centre Ave, though...that's why I say cut Centre Ave.

^^ Agreed. Any stop on the Babylon line could go. I mean you no sooner get cruising then the brakes are being pulled for the next stop. Does everytown need their own station?

You could never get parking if you closed any station along the babylon branch.
