My street was plowed overnight once and then they hit it yesterday AM about 10 with the big plow and then again about 11:30 with one of those smaller, pickups with a a plow to clean up a little more. No complaints in TOB for me.

Wow. Where was this? Or did you show them some leg?
It's spotty by me too. I think Town Of Hempstead dropped the ball on this one.
The main roads are passable to pretty good. The side streets are horrible though. They made one hell of a mess, and then that mess froze overnight making for a horrible morning drive to the schools. Looks like there's some melting beginning now. Then I guess tonight all that meltage will turn to ice.
I haven't seen or heard a plow since yesterday morning.
My neighbor works for the town.
He snuck in and did his driveway yesterday with the town truck.
He does this every storm. Maybe they are allowed to do this. Probabally not though.
Oh ok. When you said TOB, I thought you meant Brookhaven and not Babylon.
I think Jetties means TOBAY (Town of Oyster Bay).
Very few complaints over the years when it comes to TOBAY. My street is always plowed, sometimes several times. They generally seem to do a very good job.
Lindenhurst was on top of plowing. I've seen plows come by at least 3 times since the storm. Digging my plowed in car out is something I was not on top of however. Anyone think Home Depot has electric shovels in stock???
Yes. You're going to have partial melting during the day and then freezing up at night...ice is much harder to shovel than freshly fallen snow. That's why I get every last lick of snow off of my car and out of my path once the snow stops. It's not worth waiting, unless you see it's supposed to be 40 degrees at night for the next few days..then there's no freezing going on.

You could always have the company bring their own shovels and shovel for you.
