I currently have a bare hardwood staircase in my home, and would like to get it carpeted. The main reason is because the wood has been very beat up over the past 40 years (refinishing is not going to help much) and the only way I can think of making it look nice (without replacing the entire staircase) would be to carpet it. I thinking of putting a high quality, thin, probably patterned carpet on the stairs. I need a company that will do a quality job and will leave it looking perfect...
Could someone recommend a good company for doing this sort of thing? I am very picky.
Where are you located about? We used Long Island Carpet connection in Port Jeff station on Rt 347. The offered the lowest price at the the time, their crew was professional and they did a great job. I think their number is (631) 474-7900
Try a nice berber carpet. I've had it on my stairs for 7 years and it still looks great! Most carpeted stairs start to show wear right down the middle, but the berber holds up very well. I have a tan with specks of several colors, so I can switch up my paint choices every few years and it still matches.
Sorry you had a bad experience with Montauk. I had no problem with them. I am getting ready for another rug and was going to use them again. What was your issue?
My friend is very good at installing any type of flooring, he is the number 1 installer for empire carpet. He does side jobs all the time and I'm sure you will be very happy with the fit and finish, as he is very meticulous about his work. His name is Mario and his number is 917-567-7995. Tell him Louis recommended him.
