hi, i found a good house in east meadow and the address is 2127 roosevelt ave, east meadow. it's behind the heampstead tpk. i was wondering is that a good and safe area?? i see all houses on that street have cctv and alarm system,, so i was wondering there's any burglary? Thank you so much for your help.  |

Nice High Ranch. I'm not really familiar with that part of EM, but it is very close to Home Depot, and commercial property. I know for me it would not be the perfect area in which I would want to live.
There are a few nice parts of EM. My friend grew up off Prospect Ave....

Im not sure what you are looking for in a house, but this house - MLS Number 2244445 - is in a very nice part of East Meadow.

thank you.. i m just afraid the safty issue cause i have a 2 year old, behind that house is a 24 hour 7 11 store.. both mls# you gave me are in contract and the 2250955 sold for 442k... it's a nice house, but a little small for me. i like the split style. thank you for your help.

7-11's are all over the island and all are 24-hour...bellmore (the town next to east meadow) has 6 of them! But to me, it wouldn't be a deterrant- cops generally hang out there alot anyway and schmooze.
East meadow is a fine, nice, middle-class, green neighbourhood. Good luck with your search! |

East Meadow is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the northeast section of the Town of Hempstead, in the central part of Nassau County, along the Hempstead/North Hempstead town line.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of East Meadow in the Town of Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Village of Westbury in the Town of North Hempstead (the Hempstead/North Hempstead town line); on the east by the Hamlet of Salisbury and the Hamlet of Levittown; on the south by the Hamlet of North Bellmore and the Hamlet of North Merrick; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Uniondale and the Hamlet of East Garden City.

thank you for all your infos. that house is out there for half year and no offers yet.... i really like the house and just afraid the safe issue..

Have you considered any other towns? I am sure having a 7-11 right behind the property is putting a damper on things for the sale...Also if it is right behind 7-11 then it must be right across from the hospital and also the Jail which is down that street that the hospital is on, right?

East Meadow is a safe neighborhood. I have never heard of murders or any type of rash of violent crime there. Where the house is, is in a safe area. Like anywhere, you have to be aware of what is going on, but there are much worse areas of LI than East Meadow.
