Interesting map. Shows that the heroin problem is really island-wide and no one is immune.

Arrests do not always translate to heroin problem in the area. The character could be moving from one place to another and be arrested on the way.

59m/b

means 59 years old, Male/black 1 poss means one possesion charge 7th probably means the precinct and a/m is an "A" misdemeanor, B/F would be a "B" Felony

A star quarterback from Syosset HS was just arrested for dealing last week. So what could he be, 17 maybe? Very sad.

It was a shocker to me to see Garden City with so many arrests. I guess it's true about what they say. That town tends to cover up their crime to keep property values up. Disturbing to say the least.

I know this might sound stupid - but why is a 59 yr old who is old enough to know better, messing around with heroin?

The guy was probably a pill head who needed cheaper highs.

All that it takes is 6 or so people taking regularly for you to have a few od's per year....od's are just par for the course.

the sad thing is it is a huge snowball effect especially when it is in the hands of well liked kids. It makes it easier for the next to pick up. If it was 6 kids we could control it but its six kids who each know 6 more, now thats 36. I know approx. 35-40 people-those I know personally- from my age group. Many other people i know extendedly from different areas around long island. How do you control it when it gets that big!?! I read on a post about a kid arrested recently he was 20 and selling, I didnt know him personally. But I know his 32 year old older brother who was selling heroin 10 years ago! This epidemic started then and has grown. Whole families have been affected, and good families too.
