I just purchased a house in the town of Huntington and need to apply for Basic STAR. The form says check w/your town for mailing address... the TOH website just says it must be sent to the "Huntington STAR office," but lists no address for such a place. Do I just send it to the town assessor's office? I want to make sure this gets where it needs to! TIA

Best bet is to physically bring it down to Town Hall.

I usually provide my buyers with a STAR application at closing, but sometimes run out of envelopes. Found one in my files (pre-addressed from the Town) and here's how to address it:

Town of Huntington
STAR Division
100 Main St.
Huntington, NY 11743-6991

In the lower left hand corner, write "Basic STAR"

If you have "Basic STAR" you do NOT have to reapply every year
