I've lived north of H. Turnpike, between Jerusalem and Wantagh Aves. for many, many years and always felt safe.

I live right off Newbridge Rd in Levittown; right on the border of Hicksville and East Meadow. Just bought last June. It's a safe area and I don't think you have to worry about anything. We looked into houses just east of Jerusalem just a few blocks north of Hempstead tpk, and that area is typically a little more run-down. That's what other people have said here also. But, the whole town is still safe and I recommend all the areas.

Levittown is generally a decent area, but I wouldn't live in the area of levittown that is across from the nassau mall (where the big green building is and toys r us).... that area is pretty trash if you ask me, but levittown in general is a solid neighborhood.

We have lived in South Levittown for 5 years and we love it. It is very safe. We did look north of Hempstead turnpike, but wanted our kids to go to Salk and Mac Arthur so in the end we bought on the south side

We actually also just bought in the area north of the turnpike but we are WEST of Newbridge, in the "G" section zoned for East Meadow. So far so good, as we feel very save and my wife and I always marvel at how convenient our location is.
