...when he becomes the Gov of NY?

Levy did a great job for Suffolk. Who would you like to see take his spot?

Same here. The pre-poll surveys show that Levy wouldnt even come close if he ran. He needs to build up more steam and get out there a little bit. He's basically a little guy from Suffolk Co.

Lil' stevy will get crushed and now that he is a "republican" the democrats here will be able to go after him. It makes me chuckle watching so many liberals say they are going to support him that it discredits his latest move.

The following is a nice piece.

Angry civil servants don't want Steve Levy to win - he puts their lottery tickets in jeopardy.

Levy in 2010!

Levy is every "normal joe's" dream...but for anyone who's political or corrupt he is the worst enemy.

You said it

The Village Voice, and New York City, is gonna harp on whatever stupid comments Levy has made on immigration. I'm surprised this article didn't include mention of his "Shaniqua" speech last month! But that doesn't matter, cuz NYC was gonna vote for Cuomo (or any Democrat) anyway.

I guess if it suits their purposes, the PBA will now become illegal immigrants' BFF as well...which is just hilarious to me. Forget the polls as of right now, I view Lazio as a non-factor. He just doesn't have the money to run a real campaign and I can't see the GOP giving him the nomination knowing they're hitching their hopes to a lost cause.

But anyway, I'm pretty confident Levy will get the majority of Nassau and Suffolk, and likely Westchester and the lower Hudson Valley counties as well. They are fairly similar to LI and deal with the same problems we do. However the place I can see Levy really winning big is Upstate NY.

On LI, we gripe about how police/teacher compensation has hurt property taxes....but Upstate, they gripe about how the Taylor Law has made it impossible to bring in or retain any businesses because they're scared off by the property taxes. These are essentially the same problems, but the people in both places view them very differently. Levy needs to hit Upstate hard and make it clear that he has been fighting the same thing they have been for the past 30 years. He needs to sell himself as an enemy of (what Upstaters view as) the "downstate controlled, union friendly politics" in Albany, which he really is when it comes down to it. Plus, I can't imagine his comments on immigration will go over poorly up there, haha.

If he does that effectively, he's gold. Upstate NY will fall in love with him, even though he's from Long Island and they hate Long Island.

Suffolk should get Tom Suozzi to replace him as the County Exec LOL. Maybe they can put the Lighthouse in Riverhead??
