Up from $2.00, 4 years ago. Natural Gas is also up 75% in 2 years.

Ahhh, the Bernanke "Wealth Effect". You don't like it?? You're anti-American. Maybe labeled a terrorist.

Everything else is increasing similarly in the supermarket, but the government tells us inflation is only 2%.

Yes,but fuel prices are removed from CPI because they say it is already counted in the price of everything else you buy. Yea....

I heat with wood and about 400 gallons of oil/year purchased in the summer...this year at 3.34/gal. The only way to beat the system is to try to be as self reliant as you can even though it is hard in this suburban wonderland.

Just filled up from Meenans, on contract. $3.49/gallon. Plus free service contract.

I guess COD isn't what it used to be.

Yes, but those who COD always prided themselves on being able to match or beat those prices that were locked in on contract.

I see no reason now to ever do COD.

That free service contract is only because you're a new customer this year right? I don't think they or anyone gives a free contract otherwise.

Yes, but I always get a free service contract since I switch companies every year once the contract is up. I either get a free contract, or $100 free towards oil which makes the service contract a wash.

I'm gonna be honest, I never saw the appeal to COD to save a dime per gallon when I still need to get my own service.
