Why do we need meteorologists? I listen to the weather forecast daily and I don't recall the weatherman saying we were getting 5-6 inches of rain today.

Just like 2 weeks ago there was no warning of 70mph winds and near hurricane conditions.
So much for the Doppler weather, sky guardian and hyper local forecast crap!

I'm in my house 10 years and never EVER had a drop of water in my basement in all that time. Up until today I have an inch of water covering the whole basement. I went to three stores looking for a sump pump, and they were all sold out. Finally got the last one in Lowes.

Here I was going to finish my basement and now I will just leave it unfinished and paint the floors and walls every few years.

All this talk about cops and teachers, lets get rid of these weather bozos!

I don't pay the "weather bozos" salary, they can make all the mistakes they want.

i was following the radar, and while i didn't know how much rain, i knew it was going to be plenty. and yes, weather people are almost always wrong.

I was thinking it would be about 4 inches. This was really horrible, especially combined with all the prior rain.

I had just gotten my basement completely dry and put back together Sunday night from the last storm, and at about 7AM this morning it all filled up with water again. We had the basement waterproofed about 6 years ago. It always was bone dry while my neighbors were pumping... but I think that with these two storms, it was just too much for the drains. I've been pumping for 14 hours straight so far, still a long way to go

Hope everyone else is holding up ok

They forecast heavy rain and a big Noreaster both times. The do not control the weather, they forecast it.
