It's not instigating. I'm just questioning what people are putting forward as "facts". This is public information. Surely someone can provide a definative source.
I showed you the source for every single contract in NYS.
If you can't use that to "prove us wrong" then I don't know what to tell you ...
Tom I see where you are coming from and I'd say that the lack of transparency into the compensation is another issue I have. We get our property tax bills with a due date, and we get a budget # with a date to vote and that's it. It would be nice to have the info a little more available.
I am "upset" because yet another otherwise intelligent LI'er has been brainwashed.
I need to take you to a cult deprogrammer!
Are there any deprogrammers out there?
Thanks for the link. I didn't have time to look at every one of the contracts, but I did review the Northport-East Northport contract which I have read previously. There is not a word in there about retiree health benefits. That is also the district where teachers have told me that they are not entitled to any health benefits upon retirement.
I'm just trying to sort out the facts. I really didn't expect the vitriol.

What is also annoying is that the budget is voted upon before the school district knows what state aid they will be getting, so it is subject to major change.

I really want to help deprogram you! I actually have the best of intentions, but I admit my soft skills can be lacking at times.
Its called a legally binding contract. Same premise that the CEO's of the world negotiate.
I think that's the point. This was a past practice that worked in the 1950's that doesn't work any longer. However comparing a CEO negotiating her compensation to the unions is a joke, apples and tomatoes.
It is a CURRENT practice and works just fine for most.
Define "most" ... as in WHO.
Because it isn't working for the taxpayers whose MONEY is used.
