I'm not sure if you're willing to extend your commute a bit, but Ridge is very nice and has lots in your price range.

Before taking anyones advice around here about commute, mapquest it, and then actually DRIVE it during the times you drive to work. People around here are notorious for chopping minutes off commute times to their home towns.

In your case, working on the south shore you can utilize Sunrise Highway if you live in someplace like Ridge, although the OP probably knows what the Oakdale merge can look like during rush hour.

My apologies I thought they were looking at Centereach, PJ Station and Ridge?

The flow chart always trickles down to Rocky Point.
I hope that dude moves soon so at least we get to listen to a new broken record.
Centereach is at 25, he has people driving to 25A for chrissakes, and telling them it's 5 minutes away.
Good god, I sound like Dman.

Good. Now someone else can pound their head against the keyboard trying to reason with the unreasonable, while trying to help people looking for real information from being fed bs.

I already retracted Zilla.

30 to Amityville is impossible from Rocky Point, Ridge and Centereach but its still the best bang for the buck in Brookhaven.

Im with Dman....go drive it.
Obviously Centereach is closest , but a commute from any of those towns would not at all be prohibitve.
Its all about value and QOL.

Go see...Good luck.

Can we agree to point everyone towards Kings Park?
It's a good compromise.

Sunken Meadow is the new William Floyd!!

In truth, SM north of Northern State has almost as light a traffic flow as WM, and no lights. You can cover the 8 miles or so between NS and 25A in under 8 minutes during rush hour, and you are right near the water, it's hilly, there's a state park. Not bad.
