Trampoline liability (homeowners insurance, house, neighborhood)

Hi. What is the liability to the homeowner, if any, if a friend of their child gets hurt on a trampoline installed in the homeowner's yard?

Every company I talked to wont even insure your house if you have a trampoline.

Pass on the trampoline......if you still get it, make sure you get the safety netting.

You can get homeowners insurance that will include the trampoline other insruance companies will insure your home but require a waiver for any injury that results from the trampoline

I really don't understand why people get trampolines.....why risk it?

because theyre fun, like swimming pools and swingsets.

Those are too risky as well, as are bicycles, big wheels and all items that bring children joy.

The scenarioo is this: A neighbor has a trampoline, one of the neighborhood kids playing on it hurt himself and his parents are suing my neighbor for the medical costs related to their childs injury. This is all academic to me. I was just wondering why the homeowners insurance would cover this sort of incident. Kids playing, kid gets hurt, insurance companies involved? I don't get it. Is the reasoning because the homeowners would be considered negligent? The kids ages are all ~16.

You would be liable for anyone hurt on your property.

Apparently, some people are trying a trampoline liability waiver though even this might not hold up in court......

Even so far as kids playing tag and then bumping heads? There must be some limit.
