Hey guys,
as first, I read almost every thread about commuting to USC, and you already helped a lot! Maybe you can give me some extra advice about my situation.
I will be a graduate student at USC starting this fall. I was looking for a place with the following features:

-SAFE (most important thing, I don't wanna worry about people breaking in into my apartment or car)
-the commute around 40 min (up to 1hr in traffic)
-possibly on the Orange County side (my girlfriend lives in Anaheim)
-rent up to 1300$
-nice neighborhood

I will be going to school only 3 days a week, and I will go back after 8/9 pm. I found Seal Beach to be a really nice place, although I'm not sure about the commute; is it TOO far? Should I aim to somewhere closer (I read about Culver City and Silver Lake) to school but farther to my girlfriend?

Thank you for your help

Which campus?
West Adams itself is really quite good if you are young and don't have kids to think about.

Oh sorry I didn't say that; University Park Campus. I'm young and I don't have any kids, but I heard that in the whole area around USC you need to be super careful, I'm kind'a used to it since I live in Naples, Italy right now. Although I would prefer to drive and be able to relax in a safe place. I need a change in my lifestyle
