We might be relocating here and I know nothing about it. How is the weather? Is it terribly hot like the valley or a little better? Traffic? Things to do? Likes/Dislikes?

It's pretty hot in the summer. Not uncommon to have a streak of 100+ degree days with the average being a bit over 90.

I took some time this year and thoroughly studied the climate in the LA metro region since there are so many variations in temperature depending on how close one is to the ocean. Pasadena is around 20 miles from the beach but not behind high mountains like the San Fernando valley so summer's average around 90F while places like Woodland Hills, Northridge, Tujunga in the San Fernando valley average in the mid to upper 90's [that can be a big difference].

A very nice place to live....including lots of culture, arts, and entertainment. Also, lots of charm and character.

If you are working in Pasadena...no worries about traffic. If you are working in Marina Del Rey or something like that then that is another story.

Pasadena is very diverse and offers a little of everything. If you are a young couple, especially without kids it is a great place to live. Lots of old charm, good shopping, close to Los Angeles and the sports arenas if you are a sports fan.

The weather, though, warm in the summer norally isn't as hot as the valley.
There are lots of great places to eat, plenty of night lfe and plenty of traffic I would add.

Hope this is a start. Others will think of things to tell you as well.
