The "Bear-Pit" in the San Fernando Valley has some great BBQ. Been around for a very long time and is a long time favorite of many of the old time locals!!! It's on Sepulveda Blvd. right next to the 118fwy. Enjoy!!

Though I haven't found any chopped BBQ in LA in 4 years - these are some of my faves
OUTDOOR GRILL - Menu
O I N K S T E R : a slow fast food restaurant (best fries on the planet)
Phillips Bar-B-Que Restaurants - Zagat - Barbecue

There's another bbq place on Sepulveda that seems to be popular... what's it called "hogly wogly" or something funny like that.

i searched for a long time to find good bbq when i lived in los angeles. hoggly wogglys on sepulveda north of 101 can be good, but i had some tough meat once that turned me off. it is reasonable however and the service is pretty good. you can find better ones in "the hood". if you take crenshaw exit off of the 10 and head south, you will run into quite a few of them. just follow your nose or ask someone. i don't remember the names, but i know that there was one behind leimert park that always had a line on a saturday morning. i never found that los angeles had the kind of bbq that my native texas has.
