WHY?!?!

"A few years ago, if you’d told me Dean Spanos could pull off a move to Los Angeles without being pressured by his peers to sell the team, I’d have accused you of having eaten some bad fish tacos. But it’s true: Of the teams theoretically in play for L.A. (Vikings, Jaguars, Raiders if Al Davis were no longer in the picture), the Chargers have moved to the top of an increasingly short list, partly because Spanos has come into his own as an owner – and also because his sincere efforts to make a stadium work in the San Diego area have been met with civic indifference. “Without a stadium he realizes they can’t compete [financially], and he has legitimately tried to get one built,” the aforementioned AFC owner says of Spanos. “His dream is to go to L.A., and it may happen.”"

That's good. The Chargers would return to their original home. The Los Angeles Chargers of the American Football League.

That the Chargers are dealing with potential blackouts this season, given their prominence in the AFC, is surprising to me.

Stealing... you're so dramatic. As far as the why they might move, read what you posted.

My friend tried to buy tickets but they were sold out.

I think San Diego sports fans are emotional about this in part because of what the chargers mean. They are the team that really does well in San Diego unlike the 7th loss in a row Padres. Also, LA has "stolen" a San Diego team once before. LA may be the Chargers original home but they are as synonymous with SD as the Raiders really are with Oakland, despite their move.

Seems strange that the Chargers would leave San Diego because the city will not build a new stadium. Los Angeles will also not build a stadium unless it is privately funded. So why can't the Chargers get private funds in San Diego? On the other hand if the Chargers were to locate in Orange county than both LA and San Diego fans would be equally close [maybe LA would be closer unless a stadium were built in southern Orange county which is unlikely]. If the Chargers go to the City of Industry proposed stadium site than, of-course they would be a LA team. I'd rather see 2 NFL teams in Southern California and perfer that the Chargers stay in San Diego while the Vikings or Raiders relocate in Los Angeles. If the Bay Area can have 2 pro football teams why can't southern California?

Nah, I don't think this would be the right thing to do. Considering that San Diegans really identify closely with the Chargers, I doubt the franchise would have the same amount of success if it moved to Los Angeles. I mean, of course people would watch the games, but it would feel weird. I'd rather have LA take a team that isn't located 100 miles away.

How about we give San Diego the Clippers back? Or take the Angels? There's no use for them anymore.
