I will be in Long Beach from Nov 28th through Dec 3rd and am not sure where the best place would be to stay. We're wanting something cheap... we're coming out to look at places to live/work for when we move but we aren't about to waste $500 that week on a hotel...

If anyone could help, that'd be great!

(i've done some searching, an any hotels I find that are half way decently priced look pretty scary to me!)

There is a cheap, not very nice, but very well located hotel at the corner of 2nd Street and PCH call Seaport Marina. It is planned to be torn down in the next couple years but is currently operating. Also check out the downtown hotels but those are more expensive.
