Agreed. I was trying to be polite about it but what's the use? I've been hassled by them for no good reason more than once when just out and about minding my own business. Honestly though, those heavy handed tactics are probably the only thing helping CC keep out the crap which exists on most of her borders.

If I lived in nearby areas within LAUSD like Palms, Del Rey, or Mar Vista (where I grew up), I would definitely NOT put them in public schools.
Again, agreed. I know a few recent students of CCHS well.

East of the 405 everything's pretty good for the most part. The far east is close to some bad L.A. neighborhoods but is very safe.

God wants you to move to LA? That's interesting....

Good luck. Jobs are hard to come buy but not impossible. It's just that LA really is a more "who you know" place than most. So get to know a lot of people. And save some $ for a return trip if things get bad. That's how you do it. And everyone has a college degree...it doesn't count for as much as you think.

You may want to know that although downtown Culver City has come a long way with the Studio helping the area, it is now over the top pricey downtown. It's really nice looking but if you are looking for an urban vibe such as Pasadena, Los Feliz, etc this is not the place for you. However if you like a nice physical landscape and don't mind restaurants that serve only free range chicken or macrobiotic pastries such as "M" and don't mind paying more for these luxuries you will like it. If you are into any music or arts at all you can forget downtown. There is nothing that I would consider solid entertainment (no live music, no cool bars, etc). It's generally that yuppish crowd that dresses up and socializes. Personally, it seems very boring to me but many people like to sit in bars drink and talk. This is obvious because the couple of bars such as "Rush", "Gyenari", etc. are upscale and seem to get quite filled. To each his own but you should know. Also outside of the downtown area of Culver city is Venice Blvd to the north (ugh, ghetto) and Jefferson Blvd to the south (ugh again, ghetto again). Now you have the full picture.

Yeah, it's relatively safe but if you ever take the time to walk down Venice blvd it's pretty depressing. I live in Palms and am wanting to get out. It's deteriorate quite a bit over the past few years with all the not so good immigration coming into the area.
