Does anyone remember Dario's, one of the last and now gone evidence of the former Little Italy. Of course, Little Joe's was known by all.

In the early 20th Century, Los Angeles had a Little Italy. But in the 1930s, Italians moved to other parts of the city and then Little Italy became New Chinatown.

And there hasn't been a Little Italy since.

Los Angeles has never been known for Italian cuisine. You'd do much better in San Francisco.

Default Enjoy L.A for what it is!

I grew up there and just moved to New York for work. I like it here just fine but miss L.A very much. Miss that it is America's capital of the Pacific Rim, best East and south east Asian food hands down in the states. No Question. We have Little Ethiopia, Tahi Town, Little Armenia, Mexican culture everywhere obviously, from all corncers of Mexico. Huge communities from El Salvador. Parts of South Central now turning into a little Belize. Samoans and other pacific islanders in the South Bay. There is no Little Italy because L.A is not a European City.

You're right about L.A. not being a European city, but it's none of those other things either.
