Has immigration, legal or not, benefited our beloved city of Los Angeles? I believe that it HAS benefited but it's the federal government that is not doing its job.

What say you?

I mean, what is it....40% of people in Los Angeles are whites? Fine by me....fine by you?

Seriously?

We have ridiculous traffic, a shortage of affordable housing in safe neighborhoods, incessant ethnic-politics at just about every major place of employment, social balkanization and clashes, a "reconquista" movement which plans to retake the U.S. southwest using any political means available, etc.

No, I do not think we have.

Immigration has benefited the whole of the US, but uncontrolled immigration and a rejection of the melting pot are also harming the whole of the US as well. This can be said for any municipality.

Almost our entire country is a product of immigraton. Legal immigration is a wonderful thing as long as it is controled,

There is no way what-so-ever that anyone can seriously think illegal anything is good for the country.

Would the Lakers have won without Pau Gasol? (Is he a citizen? Does he have to be a citizen to be an immigrant?)

you are not talking about the same thing as the rest of us. There are a lot of people in our country that are not citizens, this doesn't mean they are illegal. Many have work visas, visiting visas etc. The question is: has immigration helped Los Angeles? Most of us are saying, legal immigration is fine, it is illegal that isn't fine.

Of course he doesn't have to be a citizen to be an immigrant>>

The day you leave Los Angeles is the day the quality of life INCREASES ten fold.

No need for your thinly veiled white nationalism. I am white (anglo) just so you know.

I have a love/hate relationship with LA.

I love that LA has Hollywood, Disneyland, Knotts, Universal Studios, two great beaches, and great museums.

However I hate the traffic, crime, smog, noise, illegals, and rude people that comes with it.
