I'm going to be in L.A. for 10 days this summer and am looking for things to do, as I won't know anyone.

Where are you coming from?
What is your transportation situation?
After researching all the things there is to do in LA, what is it that you want to do?
Do you have a budget?
Where (town) will you be staying?

If you can get to Santa Monica, spend time at the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade. Promenade has lots of stores and restaurants. Near there go to Venice Boardwalk. Shopping and CRAZY people to watch. Go to the beach. Anywhere. But picking a nice spot in Malibu might be a nice way to spend the day.

How about City Walk, Magic Mtn., Disneyland, going to some free TV shows (ie: The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno), Universal Studio, and just about any beach is fun. There is so much to do.....a lot depends if you want free places to go, where you are able to drive/get a ride to, and how far you want to travel!

Grab a copy of the LA Weekly (free) when you arrive and look for events, etc. Also, LA Weekly - HOME - The Essential Online Resource for Los Angeles. I'm assuming you won't have a rental car? If you flying in at LAX make use of the LAX-Union Sta. Flyaway. It goes to downtown for only $3. Easy to catch other transportation from there, like LA's sorry excuse for a subway system :-)

Well, tell us what part of L.A. you're going to be in and we can make good suggestions.
