I lived there when I was married. Back then there were only two police patrol cars assigned to both Sunland and Tujunga; I'm not sure if that has changed or not. I grew up in La Crescenta (well, to be technical, I really grew up in the "slums" of La Canada , but I went to La Crescenta schools); that's a much better area.

All of the friends that I grew up with agree with me when I say we had no idea how good we had it back then! I wish I could afford to live there again, but it's a little far from my job out in Woodland Hills.

It also gets very windy in Sunland, because it's at the mouth of Big Tujunga Canyon. I remember one year it actually snowed in the higher elevations. That's extremely rare, however.

Sun Valley is even worse than Panorama City. It's a dangerous dumpy barrio with heavy industry to boot. At least Panorama skips the latter.

Whenever I ask someone where they live and they answer "La Canada", their head always raises a little and they don a very proud look.

I think that's the way kids are...not knowing what they have.

At least Sun Valley doesn't have that big *ss dump. Pacoima has the biggest dump I have ever seen... I am talking literally here. The one along San Fernando Road.

Sorry, but I just noticed the originator of this thread states their location is Glendale, CA..... why not take a 10-15 mile drive and see Sun Valley, Sunland for yourself?!?! Who knows, you might find something you like there. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/canibeyou/shrug.gif (broken link)
