thanks for the replies, we can cross that area off our list, because we are young and our move will be for long enough to start putting future children into school.

Digging that up for some hoped clarification. We've decided to rent either in West Torrance or South Redondo. While in this thread Torrance is often referred to as "bigger yards" and Redondo as the two-door-away-sneezer you can hear, to me the offered appmnts/houses seem to be exactly the opposite...

Another question re the commute to Carson (SB Pavilion). According to the Sigalert data it seems like the 405 is more conquested North-West bound in the morning and South-East bound at night. In this case a daily early travel along the freeway from Redondo to Carson and late back would avoid much of the traffic. Does that sound alright? When moving to Torr. the 405 could be avoided anyways.
