Hi!

I was wondering if I could get some advice regarding housing in L.A. I'm moving on early Feb and so far I don't have a place yet. I'm hoping to stay and some friends house for the month of February, should a month be enough time to find a place that I like?

I've applied to UCLA, USC and some CSU's so I don't know yet where I'm going to school.

I don't have a job yet either, so is not like I can live close to where I work.

Basically I'm looking for a place until august before I make a one year lease commitment.

Somehow craigslist is kind of overwhealming, and I'm not sure about subletting or living with people I've never met. Should I just look for an apartment?

I've been told the following zip codes are safe:90068, 90028, 90046, 90027

I can't afford more than 900-1100 for a studio/ apartment and considerably less if I were to rent a room.

Any suggestions are much appreciated

Thanks!

With your budget I'd look at CSULB and Long Beach. Safer in your price range, for sure
