Okay just a fun question. If money and cost of living wasn't an issue where would you choose to live in LA?

My choices:
1. Brentwood (best location IMO)
2. Manhattan Beach
3. Coldwater Canyon area or Pacific Palisades

2. MB because it would be closer to more jobs for me.

Did I misunderstand? Are we limited to just those three choices?

If anywhere, I'd probably take Thousand Oaks, maybe North Ranch in a nice neighborhood with cul de sacs and flat streets, lots of kids, good schools, neighbors, near my and my wife's parents, medium sized lot not too big (too isolated), not too small (too confined).

This thread is the same as this:

//www.city-data.com/forum/calif...u-live-if.html

and this

If Money Was No Object, Where in CALIFORNIA Would You Live?

topanga canyon on a dirt road in a house with a tree growing up the middle. in fact, IN a tree, in topanga. with a gangload of freaky friends.

either that or a haunted hollywood apartment (on beachwood would be lovely) that used to belong to a starlet in an old twenties building with art deco touches and hardwood floors. and a balcony.

or the biltmore. do they have a penthouse there? or the ray bradbury building somewhere in a converted office.

bev hill, brentwood, the beach, you can keep it.

I hate to do this nighthouse, 'cause I really like your list.... But it's just the Bradbury Building. (Lewis not Ray. And I love Ray, but it's not his building. Sorry. And I hope to heck you're referring to the very cool Bradbury Building and not someplace Ray lived as a kid when he was roller skating to the studios.)

If money were no object I would buy Catalina Island and play the most dangerous game.

Forget that. I'd buy Catalina and live in the Wrigley Mansion circa 1930.
