I live in San Pedro, near Point Fermin, and for the last week or so I've been noticing these odd boats at night, just off shore. They are evenly spaced up and down the coast, and they have floodlights that pulsate. Sometimes the lights go off and they go almost completely dark.

This is driving me nuts. What the hell are those things?

And secondly, right off Point Fermin I've been hearing a low sound like someone blowing over the top of a large jug. This has been non-stop for months now.

Two strange things in San Pedro.

Surely someone out there knows the answers...?

If they were up to something at the mouth of the harbor, that's exactly what they would do to blend in.

I just moved right across from Cabrillo Beach and the intermittent humming/vibration is driving me nuts. I've had a few good quiet nights here but this past weekend it's been humming/roaring for over 48 hours. What the heck is that?

Thanks!
