I'm thinking of moving to Woodland Hills, but work at Cedars Sinai. I have to be there at 9:00 and leave at 5:00. Are there any options to avoid traffic hell? I love the area, but don't want to spend my life in traffic. Thanks for any input!

What? No lunch break? A straight eight hours?

To answer your question, there is no solution other than changing your hours or dealing with bad traffic. Maybe a vanpool. Enterprise Rideshare, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Vanpool

Maybe the Orange Line Rapid Bus to the subway and then another bus west to CS, but that looks like a long hassle.

that's a brutal commute, at least an hour each way on a normal day with potential for an even longer drive if conditions are bad (rain, accident, etc.). even without traffic, that's nearly a 45 minute drive, so take that into consideration as well. 101 = bad, 405 = bad, sunset blvd = bad, wilshire blvd = bad, santa monica blvd = bad, beverly glen = bad, coldwater canyon = bad. there's no way to avoid traffic unless you have a helicopter.

Try looking in Sherman Oaks or adjacent and take Coldwater instead.

My cousin lived in Woodland Hills and worked on Bedford Street in Beverly Hills and did the commute for 15 years. She never complained. Some people can deal with the traffic, others can't.

I remember her. I went to her high school graduation back in 1990. Time flies.

I think the OP needs to consider living in the city and not the valley. Unless the OP considers somewhere in North Hollywood near the Toluca Lake area like around Cahuenga south of Magnolia or around Riverside, then take the Hollywood fwy and exit near the Hollywood Bowl, cut across the small street that will take her around Yamashiro and the magic castle, then take sunset to LaCienega and head up to Cedars that way. When I lived in Toluca Lake I did a similar commute to Century City. It was still not good, but it would be better than Woodland Hills.

Whoever mentioned Studio City that is STILL a bad commute because the OP would still have to take Laurel Canyon of Coldwater Canyon which will still be BAD at his/her commute times.

OP, what makes you want to live in Woodland Hills anyway?

Actually we're black and her graduation was not in Los Angeles.

Bye Charles (aka weirdo)

I can almost guarantee the person is desperate to buy and Woodland Hills is the closest location to BH with <$400-500K housing prices and good schools.

That's exactly why my cousin did it.
