I hope to goodness you spring for a box yourself every once in a while. It's part of life in L.A. Part of the business and social fabric of living here. Is your boss an L.A. guy? I can guarantee you he notices who brings in a box for the crew.

Have you seen the car commercial where they send out the intern for donuts? He returns with the big pink box to put on the conference table. Totally L.A.

And no L.A. doughnut discussion would be complete without mentioning Spudnuts.

Find a Spudnuts shop near you.

Okay, okay! I broke down and bought some donuts! I'm having a glazed right now as we speak! Hubby got them from the local Swiss Donut near our house, so they aren't as good as Winchell's or Krispy Kreme, but I gotta say ... they are better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

The very best donuts are the two free glazed you get from the nice Cambodian lady who peers at you from behind the display case and says, "How you today? You like glaze? You buy one dozen mix I give you two glaze free. Have nice day!"

True dat. Since I love my glazed donuts, hubs got me a dozen glazed - but she threw in 2 free cake donuts! Now ... just to clarify - all these donuts aren't for me - I'm only gonna have like two .... or maybe three. I'll suffer the guilt later.

I'll take the rest. Just toss the box out the window when you pass the Cherry exit on 10.

So you do a little extra exercising to work them off. I laugh at the total panic some people have over the idea of eating a donut. It's a well-known fact that donuts are good for the soul.

Yeah I bring them in more than most probably. I always like to keep my team motivated by sugar. My boss (she) is from the south but most of my team are LA natives. She is the only one that never takes a donut! Most women on my team pass them up the first 7 times they walk by them and by lunch they grab one guiltily as they sneak off.

Yep - you can bet I'll be doing some extra exercise! I am, after all, a gym rat!

Sh*t! I usually take the 60 into Riverside and OC/LA, but I might have to stay on the 10 and leave earlier.
