Hello All,

I will be moving to LA in a few months from Philadelphia and will need to open an account with a new bank (checking & savings). I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on banks out west that are convenient, abundant, and reputable.

Thanks

You will see Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Chase. More local banks are not as abundant. Best to find a credit union close to where you end up living for better service if that is important to you.

This. Commercial banks see you as a resource from which they are obligated to extract as much money as possible from. Credit unions see you as a member. Big difference. Find a credit union with a branch near you and if you need access to ATMs, most credit unions will let eachother's member use them for free or low cost. I have an account with Wescom and they have branches throughout the greater LA area.

Agree with this completely. Anyone who resides in SoCal can join Wescom.
