Haha, wait... Isn't Highland east of Redondo? I think Redondo is right in the middle of that desirable area of Miracle Mile, isn't it? I only clarify since I'm looking in that area between Hauser and Highland.

Yea, but I meant if you are on San Vicente sorry. San Vicente east of Hauser is rough. On Wilshire and Hauser and Wilshire and Highland it is highly desirable.

Nice! Thanks for clarifying. You scared me there for a second, haha.

I'm gonna see what Beverly Hills and Beverly Center have to offer, to keep my options open.

Are you familiar with those areas at all? I'm assuming they're pretty safe?

Beverly Hills is very safe. Almost overzealously safe. Beverly Center is also very safe.
Violent crime is pretty nonexistant.

There is a lot of tourist activity near Beverly Center and also Rodeo Drive thus a lot of foot traffic.

Do you happen to know how safe La Cienga is, between Pico and Olympic? It looks like it's somewhere along the borders of Beverly Hills and Century City, maybe part of the Pico-Robertson area? Judging by the Google map street views, it doesn't like the best neighborhood, but it may be quiet.

Any thoughts on the area?

I'm not a fan of Pico. I am not quite sure since I don't know anyone who has lived there, but I have driven through and I am not impressed by it. In my opinion, it gets better north of Olympic on La Cienega.

stay north of pico, you'll be fine. the big changes are when you get south of venice. either way, the neighborhoods aren't necessarily dangerous, you just get into more diverse neighborhoods with lower median incomes.

I also say live by the Beverly Center. Not quite West Hollywood, not quite mid-city, but a fine, safe and desirable area that won't break the bank. The drive from Beverly Center to DTLA is about 25 minutes usually (my friend does this commute every day) and to UCLA it is about 20 minutes. 6th and even 3rd Streets are great alternatives to Wilshire. 6th is never that busy, and it's just one block north of Wilshire. It's about as fair as a middle ground you'll get.

So I guess I've narrowed down the areas to Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills, and Beverly Center.

After all this searching online, I have yet to find a place in the Beverly Hills or Beverly Center areas that I'm happy with. I found a couple of places just outside Beverly Hills that seem okay, but I fear that they aren't in the safest places, so I might as well not.

Miracle Mile has the best apartments that I've seen, offering the most amenities. But then again, it's a little bit of a drive.

Unless someone knows of a website that offers really nice apartments (just updated and nice looking from the exteriors to the interiors, preferable fitness center, in-unit washer/dryer, etc.) in the Beverly Hills or Beverly Center areas, I'm gonna go ahead and try just driving around and see if there's something I like, because I can't find it online. Ideally, I'd find the apartments I've found in Miracle Mile and put it in the Beverly Hills or Beverly Center areas, but that's not possible.

Since I'm from out of the area, I'm gonna go there one day, drive around, and hope for the best. If I can't find anything, I guess Miracle Mile will work, even if it's farther out.

If anyone has any opinions to help me out with this dilemma, let me know.
