Because of traffic isn't it best to use the subway and other methods? If you are living in the city and your job is in the city do you even need a car? Because of the high cost of living shouldn't you try to go without a car?

It can make sense if your home and your job are located near subway stations.

You can save quite a bit by not having a car , it's not to have one though in my opinion. With Uber/Lyft and services like Turo there are a lot more options where you can have access to a car without owning one full time.

You could also own a car and rent it out when you aren't using it on a service like Turo to cover your expenses of owning it and potentially make a profit too.

LA have subway? Public transportation?

Seriously have you tried living in LA without a car for a week? Do you honestly think that all of this people would just sit in traffic if LA had a good public transportation system? Unless you are working in DTLA and have subway stop near your house, i would say forget about it. No it's nearly impossible to live in LA and not own a car.

It's just not worth it. At the end of the day it will cost you way much more compare if you just own a car.

Yes. Subway means an efficient, underground rail. What LA has is cheaply built, slow because it's above ground and and as a result suffers from the same traffic issues, therefore by definition is not a subway.

LA is huge. Subway doesn't go everywhere. LA is not NYC. It could work ok if you live and work in the right spot and you don't ever have to get a new job or apartment
