Hi everyone,

This may be a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I work in Redondo Beach and my fiance works in Burbank. We are trying to figure out a good place to move (right now we live in Koreatown) to make my commute a bit easier but not make his too hard either. A couple things we are trying to consider:

1. We are looking at Culver City because it would make my commute easier (right now its an hour each way), but it seems like he would have to battle traffic both ways on the freeway from CC to Burbank.

2. We would love somewhere quieter and with a little bit more of a residential feel.

With these things in mind, does anyone have any suggestions regarding a good area to live? I was looking at areas like North Hollywood and Van Nuys because even though they are farther north than where we are now, they are near the 405 so in that sense it would be easy to get to Redondo Beach from there. Is it crazy to even consider moving up there? Should we stick to going to CC or some where near there? Suggestions and ideas are much appreciated!

Thanks!

I don't know what you should do. But I do know that the 405 south from the SFV south after 6am or so is probably the very worst freeway drive in LA County. I'd guess that if you leave home in Van Nuys at 630AM you will arrive in Redondo Beach at around 8AM, but maybe someone else finds that drive easier.

Downtown would be the easiest commute compromise, but its nothing residential at all, and if you are considering Van Nuys and No Ho, I'm guessing you don't want to pay rent in downtown.

I also know that Culver City to Burbank is no picnic.
