I'm planning on moving to Long Beach and was looking at a place on Pine Ave..

It's 1141 Pine Ave in Long Beach. It's near St. Mary's Medical Center and between Pacific and Long Beach BLVD.

Roughly, how bad is that area? I know the nearer you are to the beach - the better.. but this seems to be a good enough distance away to question it lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

downtown Long Beach has some nice new buildings but can be very dangerous at night. I lived down there for a year, on Ocean Blvd., and couldn't wait to get out. I love Long Beach and still live here, just not dtown. Unless you are comfortable with gang-related stabbings and the occasional shooting within approx 5-10 blocks, look at farther east in Long Beach.

Not the best part of town. Belmont Heights and Belmont Shore would be safer and nicer (and more expensive).

I'm sure our Long Beach specialist NaplesRes will be along soon to weigh in.
