Can someone explain these guys?

See 'em all the time. The guys who stand on the sidewalk or center median with a leaf blower and blow grass clippings and leaves into the street, typically in busy traffic areas, where the turbulence caused by the passing cars simply blows the debris back onto the sidewalk / median. (Though that's some great job security I suppose.) What's the point??? Just seems completely baseless - why not sweep, collect, and remove instead...

Been meaning to ask you knowledgeable City-Data'ers this for a while, 'cos it boggles my mind every time I see them.

My yard guy isn't allowed to use his leaf blower. He rakes, sweeps and puts the stuff in the trash.

I love those guys, they blow dirt and leaves all over my car. The whole concept reminds me of that commercial (parody) on SNL of a sling shot that launches trash into your neighbor's yard.

I imagine as long as he blows the leaves and/or grass clippings off his client's property then where it ends up is not his problem.

Some will take it one step further and blow the stuff (garbage and all) into the storm drains.

Simple laziness is all. Good help is hard to find in LA

I'm going to patent the Leaf Sucker

But I suppose it's easier to blow than suck.
