Everything else being equal, who does Mr. Employer hire, someone local or someone from out of state?

People will tell you whatever you want to hear.

Charles, I think everything being equal I'm going to hire the person who's going to help me make money, local or not.

Have you considered Orange County? You could presently rent a 3bd/3bth/ 1700 sq. ft home in Rancho Santa Margarita for just under $2500/month. RSM’s schools are good and the city is very safe. You might be able to find jobs in nearby Irvine before arriving.

4 Via Latigo Rancho Santa Margarita CA - Home for Rent - MLS #S660970 - Realtor.com®

Here's a 3bd/3bth/1700 sq ft in Aliso Viejo for under $2500:
36 Colony Aliso Viejo CA - Home for Rent - MLS #L36382 - Realtor.com®

Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo would not have what the OP is looking for. If they want South OC, Laguna Beach is probably the only place that would have what they're looking for. Seal Beach and Huntington Beach might also be possibilities elsewhere behind the Curtain.

Why wouldn't they have what the OP is looking for?

Because they are a lesbian couple looking for a place that will be welcoming to them and their two kids.

The OP has already crossed LA off her list. Orange County was never mentioned as a place they were considering anyway.

I know she never mentioned Orange County, that's why I asked her if she had ever considered it. It can be helpful to look at one's options.

I live in Aliso Viejo (right next to Laguna Beach) and the city is safe with good schools. FWIW, or not, I'm a former New Yorker. I also have several gay neighbors and nobody cares, or bothers them.

I don’t think they would have a problem in Rancho Santa Margarita either.

You obviously don't know as much in this area. I am the immigrant here with a sh*tload of experience with this. My ex is from New Jersey and got hired by a Lamborghini dealership in San Diego without any problems. They gave him 2 weeks to move. I even have friends from back in Europe that have been hired/sponsored out here for jobs. When I lived in San Diego I got hired for a gig in LA and that's how I ended up out here.

People will not tell me whatever I want to hear because since I've been in this country I've heard a lot of things I did NOT want to hear.

If you can't accept my experience and what employers have told me than you have some serious issues hence why you're having problems getting laid (yes I remember you from previous posts).
