Housing is the real sh*tkicker for sure...

The other major cost I have seen is private schooling -- the public schools here tend to suck big time, so if you want to send your kid(s) to a private school, you'll pay a hefty price. Private schooling costs for High School here are college tuition-like. And the K - 8 schools aren't much cheaper...

Or you can buy the 2 AMC tickets for $16 at Costco pretty much anytime, or you can use the numerous Fandango deals and get tickets for $3-6...

This is a good, microcosmic example of why it's important to be financially savvy in order to thrive in LA.

3-D is just an excuse to raise ticket prices.

If you told people....tickets are going from $16-18, how many would buy?

But if it's 3D, then it seems ok.
