Hi Everyone
I'm looking into moving to Los Angeles with my 2 young children from the UK, would like to know which are the best & safest areas to live in with kids and if you can recommend any good schools.

Thanks for the help

I normally work from home so that wouldn't be the problem, would just like to know safe family neighbourhoods other than Beverley Hills which is way too expensive.

There must be a reason to be moving from another country to the US, and to LA specifically. That/those reasons probably will have some importance when narrowing down where to live. Even if you only have to "go to the office" or whatever occasionally it's going to matter. If there are freinds and family in the area you will want to be close to them. Etc. etc.

But if you just want people to throw names of cities out at you...Santa Monica is nice.... Pasadena is nice....

Pretty much any non-LAUSD area will probably fit the bill

Depends on what kind of neighborhood you like. If you just want a name, we LOVED South Pasadena for families, and the schools are very good. A lot of the neighboring areas also have very good schools, although some locations (San Marino, for one) are very expensive. Other locations, like Arcadia, are more affordable. There are a lot of good schools and family-friendly areas in the LA metro area, so you'll need to narrow it down a bit more.

Santa Monica is a haven for UK expats. You'll feel quite at home (as long as you have a moderately high income)
