Squirrels are my biggest culprit. They eat all my Fuji apples right before they ripen. I planted a Peach tree a month ago (with no fruit yet) and I'm planning how to thwart those critters. Last night there was an infomercial for a solar powered animal deterrent. Has anyone here had any luck with that?

I used to have another culprit--my dog! Being an adorable yet completely brain-dead springer spaniel, she seemed to be under the impression that toy balls grew on trees--specifically my peach tree. I'd see her run up and snatch the peaches off the tree, play with them for a while, take a bite or two, and leave it. She'd also run up and steal them from my basket when I'd be out picking them. I have to admit, it was pretty entertaining to watch the thief in action.

Here in my neighborhood, we have opossums and squirrels. Those opossums are scary-looking because they resemble overgrown rats!

I think someone knew when you wouldn't be home, and came and filled their bucket up to sell their goods at a farmers market/swap meet/street corner.

I used to see opposums and skunks here all the time, but I haven't seen them in a while. Sometimes, but rarely, I see geese casually lounging around in the morning near the community pool. Due to the owner’s carelessness, Joe Coyote occasionally snacks on poor fluffy. He comes up from the canyon, but he doesn’t come around as often as he did in the past.
