Planted a Peach Tree. 2 days later somebody stole all the peaches! (Los Angeles: fence, eat)

I just moved here, planted a new peach tree. The tree already came with peaches on the small tree. Within two days somebody had scaled a 6 foot fence to get into the yard and took all the peaches!

i have a peach tree and the local critters love them. they leave my citrus trees alone, but i see missing peaches and half eaten peaches all th time. it looks like you've got new pets!

Yeah, I don't know where you are, but my nectarine's fall prey to possums, birds, raccoons, etc. I doubt someone scaled your fence to get at them.

In all seriousness, I had not thought of critters because there's no mess at all. Could they have eaten and taken every morsel?

Hmm, I'd like to believe it was a critter party, rather than believe some neighbor was that desperate and mean.

Critters did it. We have a number of trees, orange, lemon, but they really love nectarines. One day the tree was full, I picked about a dozen, came back 2 days later and the tree was almost bare. A day later, I watched as a clever crow picked two, kept both in his mouth and flew away to enjoy his goodies.

I have a highly productive Santa Rosa plum tree. The flying AND mammalian rats that wait for the ripe ones to fall leave no trace, not even a pit. There one minute, gone the next.

Animals did it. Fruit is too plentiful for people to be scaling fences.
Those critters will rob you blind. Shameless.
