Hi all, wondering if anyone has any insight on driving from LA to Vegas and back on 4th of July Weekend.

Here's what I'm thinking - what do you think would be best for less traffic?

Leave LA late (8-9pm) Friday Night Jul 1
OR
Leave LA early (5-6am) Saturday Morning Jul 2

Leave Vegas late (6-7pm) Monday Jul 4
OR
Leave Vegas early (4-5am) Tuesday Jul 5

OR

Something else entirely? What do you think?

Thanks!

Last time I returned from Vegas on a 4th of July weekend it took 9 hours to get back to Long Beach.
Better to return Tuesday morning or Sunday evening.

Leave NOW!

(Or Saturday morning. You do NOT want to drive to Vegas on the Friday night of a holiday weekend.)

Leave LA at 5 to 6 am. Leave LV at 7pm. Do not leave LA during rush hour. I did that once (on a non-holiday) and it was bumper to bumper all the way to Primm, NV.

So it seems like LA Saturday morning early 5am and leaving Vegas Monday night 7pm or later.

Do you think it would be around 4 hrs from Burbank or will it be much more?

Holiday weekend, there are no short cuts here. Allow 8 hours each way.
