Hi,
I'm 30years old from Greece and i'm planning with my wife to stay permanently in L.A.
We've never been in America and because of the economical problems that we are facing every day here in Greece we decide to come and stay in L.A. because i search and found some good oportunities for job.
I would like to ask you where we should look and find a place to rent a house.
I've heard about hawthorne and culver city.Any suggestions would be greatfull.
Thanks in advance.

What is your budget? It's always wise to live close to work unless you don't mind spending a lot of time in traffic and spending a lot of money on gas.

Be specific or it's not happening.

You do know that you can't just move here and legally stay on a permanent basis just because you want to, right? You can't even work here without the proper visa.

By the way, I know you are in a tough situation, but unemployment is high in California and LA is very expensive.

I choose California because of the weather. You see here in Greece we have 9 months sun and i think it's ok.I have a cousin who lives in Chicago for about 20 years and he still can't stand the cold.

I would like to know about good cities to stay in (e.g.house rents, apartments rents, safe neighborhoods)

In another forum people suggested me to look in Culver city or Hawthorne.
Any other suggestions would be greatfull.

Getting to work here legally is the biggest hurdle; the weather is secondary.
