Well we all know there are a ton of restaurants in LA some more known than others and some more expensive than others. But this is a thread where you can let the people know about where or where not to go and what to order. Talk about your experiences or just list a place you'd like to go.

For me #1 on the list to start of with will be a gem of a Mexican Cafe in original East LA on N.Evergreen between Cesar Chavez and Wabash and its a restaurant named "El Tepeyac Cafe #1" This cafe appeared on Travel network's Man Vs. Food.

Here's one video about 8 mins long fastforward to the 4 min mark to get to the restaurant part.

There are just too many restaurants.

I'd say Dolores Restaurant on SMB in WLA is one of the worst.

my least favorite has to be Yamashiro's. The sushi tastes like frozen fish & the drinks are way overpriced. I feel like every time i drive up there they're raping my wallet.

My absolute fav has to be the Studio at the Montage hotel down in Laguna. The view, the food, the wine is 5 star.

For comfort food, I list one that has gone away: Russell's.

The last surviving Dolores' is hardly one of the worst (the Beverly Hills and Culver City drive-in locations are long gone). Not the best by any means but there is far worse out there.

Three of the most historic restaurants in L.A. have amongst the worst food in L.A.: the Pantry, Clifton's, and El Coyote. The Campos' chain is particularly wretched.

Like I stated in your other thread, "El Tepeyac" (in Boyle Heights) is EXCELLENT.

The hollenbeck burrito is huge and delicious......

I agree Clifton's is awful too. Dolores is pretty darn bad though. Pantry and El Coyote aren't good, but I definitely wouldn't consider them among the worst.

Cut BH, Capo SM

As someone commented above, don't know anywhere on planet like MontageLagBch w/grt food, wine, cheese, svc, etc in a spectacular setting on PacCoast (w/its amazing weather, lack of insects, etc) w/grt infrastructure for car nuts w/smooth rds and spacious valet pkg...makes a mockery of anything in SM/Malibu/Montecito/PebbBch...or any other upscale coastal setting in world (which are all, outside CA, almost invariably humid, insect-ridden, crime-ridden, non-car friendly, etc)...

I'm a sandwich guy:

Favorite: Zankou, Langer's, Attari, Oinkster, Tacos Por Favor (the milanesa cemita there is out of control), Sky's, Banh Mi My Tho, Larchmont Wine and Cheese, Bay Cities, Porto's, Wally's Cheese Box, El Guero, Sando's, Papa Cristo's, Mendocino Farms, Sandwich Shop... ahhhh there's too many to even list here!!! LA IS AMAZING AND THAT'S NOT EVEN COUNTING BURGERS

Least Favorite: I have no idea. Why would I go anywhere bad?
