YouTube - ‪Missing Persons - Walking in L.A.‬‏

There are some ped friendly areas of LA, but most people drive to get to these places. there are areas where you can reach all needed amenities by foot, but they usually aren't family friendly or are VERY expensive (think Montana Ave in Santa Monica). i would re-explore culver city, especially around the downtown area. i would also look into places like encino or sherman oaks. i live in encino and have have a huge park and TJ's less than a mile from my house. also, ventura blvd has everything that the city has minus the night life. it's just really hot in the summer in the valley, so walking/cycling isn's always an option.

Just of note: Where I live on the border of Sherman Oaks/Studio City I can walk to 7 or 8 bars, which is more than most in the city can walk to (particularly the Westside neighborhoods of Westwood, West LA, even parts of WeHo).
