Hello,
We are relocating to Sothern California for my husband's new position in Culver City. We are looking for a very nice (upscale), family-oriented area with excellent elementary schools. Cities that will be within a 20-25 minute commute (max), as LA traffic is too challenging to live too far of a distance.
We would like the area to value education for children, as this is highly important to us. A city that is very safe to walk outside in the evening, great parks for kids with nice, educated people. We are open to a small home or nice, condo community. We can afford upper-middle class price-range for housing.
Thanks in-advance for any suggestions.

a budget with an actual dollar amount would be much more helpful. upper-middle class is quite a subjective term, but I'm guessing that means you can afford the $700k-$800k range. if so, you should be able to find something nice in culver city itself. i wouldn't look anywhere else really as the schools are inconsistent at best, housing is too pricey, or the commute is too far.

Probably within Culver City itself and Santa Monica, but nowhere in the City of Los Angeles.
