Hello I have lived at wilshire&vermont until now, but my landlord lost its property *and I fell for his scam O.o... well thats another often told story

I have a viewing on thursday for a studio
1407 n edgemont

I wanted to know if its safe there... its between hollywood western and vermont santa monica station......

And if I mean safe, I dont mean a gated community I mean just the avarage safe, no gangs, shootings, popular rape spot...etc
Area you can go out at night ...

thanks

the map says that over the past 6 months there were fewer crimes than in hollywood, but more than in koreatown and westlake...

I noticed there is no safe area in central Los Angeles

But I intend to move to the westside as soon as I can afford a vehicle O.o

Keep in mind that Hollywood's crime rate is distorted by being based on population rather than on the number of people who are actually in Hollywood at any given time (considerably greater than the population of Hollywood).

Also, Hollywood varies a great deal. Generally most of the bad stuff happens in very specific places. (Echo Park also varies, with bad stuff concentrated in certain places. Even East Hollywood varies from street to street and block to block. I'm not familiar with that specific block of Edgemont but there are some streets in East Hollywood that are much better than others. The most crime-ridden part of East Hollywood is Western Avenue and nearby.)

As for "no safe area in central Los Angeles", no area is 100 percent safe anywhere but Silver Lake, Elysian Valley, and Atwater Village are relatively safe and have lower violent crime rates than the L.A. average.
