What is the job, do you have a firm offer? What is your rental budget?

You could easily live in Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Encino and even Sherman Oaks. Your commute wouldn't be as serious as if you were working in LA. I use to work in Agoura Hills (which is even further than Calabasas) and I live in Encino and my commute was only 20mins. Prior to that I worked in Vernon, which was like 1.5hrs!!!

I don't know about that. You would not experience that if you lived in the areas I mentioned in previous response [see above].

Where in Jersey are you from? My ex is from Tuckerton/Manahawkin/Toms River. I spent a couple years going back and forth to those areas from London, UK.

Check one of the apartment rental websites. Woodland hills would be the closet to the job. Oakwood apartments is in the area and may fit your budget.
