OK, if you're a veggie:

I'll make my broken record recommendation for the Spuderito (french fries-filled burrito) at Rick's in Pasadena.

Mission style burritos seem to be very common here, although black beans filling is not. I really like chile relleno burritos. Unfortunately, my favorite was from a tiny place in Pasadena which is long gone.

Although I've seen the best Bean & Cheese burrito list in the Great Taco Hunt blog (mentioned in pbergen's excellent post) I don't have personal experience with them. The Great Taco Hunt blogger prefers a lot of cheese, while I don't, so these lists are always subjective. I've always liked the bean & cheese at Tops Jr. in Alhambra. It's basic but something about the texture of the beans is really appealing to me.
