I know LA is HUGE so I'm not sure what area to stay in for a 3 day/4 night trip I'll be making. I'll be flying into and out of LAX and renting a car. Plans are:
1 day visiting Venice Beach to visit family
1 day visiting Anaheim for Disneyland
1 day visiting a touristy area of LA like Grauman's Chinese Theatre or the Hollywood sign. And then going back to airport.

What location of Los Angeles would be most convenient for me to get a hotel in during this stay? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Perhaps Santa Monica....close to Venice Beach and not far from the airport.

With a car, you can pretty much stay anywhere from Downtown to Hollywood all the way to the beaches on the westside. Just avoid driving during rush hour times and you are golden. If you want to be next to shopping, many bars and restaurants, and nightlife, then stay in Santa Monica or Hollywood.

I agree. Anywhere in West LA will put you in the middle of pretty much everything you want to do.

How much are you looking to spend?
